Microsoft Outlook – hints for setting
up your email
First Time Accounts
Open Microsft Outlook
- Skip the Wizzard setup. When Outlook opens, go to Tools on the menu bar and open Email Accounts - click Next.
- Click "add a new e-mail account" and click Next.
- Check the spot for Pop3 as your server type and click Next.
- Fill in all the appropriate boxes with your name, user name, password, etc. If you are using a TCOE account, your server information for both Incomming and Outgoing mail will be the same -dubakella.tcoek12.org
- When your information is filled in, click Test Account Settings. If no error messages come up, you can click Next, and you are done. If you get an error, go back and double check all your information. Most problems are related to user name and password.
To hear a sound when new mail arrives:
- Open
your email and click Tools from
the tool bar. Go to Options, and then to Email Options.
- Put a
check in the box next to “Display
notification message when new mail arrives.”
- Now
click the Advanced E-mail Options
button. Put a check in the box next to “Play
a sound”. Also put a check in
the box next to “Show an envelope
icon in the system try”
- Click
Ok when you’re done and close the dialog menus.
To change your stationary (how your page looks):
- Open
your email and click Tools from
the tool bar. Go to Options, and then to Mail Format.
- Click Stationary Picker under Stationary and Fonts
- Choose
the stationary style that suits you - click OK when finished.
Create a signature for all your emails:
- Open
your email and click Tools from
the tool bar. Go to Options, and then to Mail Format.
- At the
bottom of this menu, you will find
Signature.
- In the
box next to Signature for New
Message, type your name and title.
- Do the
same thing in the Signature for
Replies and Forwards box.
- Click
the Signatures tab to view your
signature
